Windows hibernate mode

The hiberfil.sys getting too large and eating up your C drive space, here is a command to get rid of it and get your space back.

  1. Run command prompt as administrator
  2. key in the following command to disable hibernate mode.
powercfg -h off

Once you enter the above command, windows will discard the hiberfil.sys file and you will get your space back.

And if you want to enable the hibernate mode, enter the following command.

  1. Run command prompt as administrator
  2. key in the following command to enable hibernate mode.
powercfg -h on
